Welcome to my shop! I'm Ilya Somov, a seasoned blacksmith with over 15 years of experience. Originating from Southcentral Alaska, my journey began as a farrier apprentice, later expanding into the realm of blacksmithing. After earning my Bachelor's degree at the American College of the Building Arts, specializing in traditional techniques, I honed my craft under master blacksmiths in both traditional and modern methods.

Throughout my career, I've contributed to projects ranging from the U.S. Capitol Dome Restoration to crafting ornate Italian gates in Guardiagrele, Italy.

Now based in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, I'm dedicated to providing quality blacksmithing services, specializing in architectural elements, and keeping the trade alive in Alaska's frontier.
